UCLGA-LEDNA workshop on LED in Zambia and Botswana

A two-day workshop on the establishment of an LED national programme in Zambia and Botswana was held from 20 to 21 August 2009 at the United Cities and Local Government of Africa (UCLGA)'s offices in Pretoria. Organised jointly by UCLGA and LEDNA, the workshop was attended by representatives of the Local Government Association of Zambia, the Botswana Association of Local Authorities and the South African Local Government Association. Participants were introduced to LEDNA, to the ECOLOC methodology and to various LED experiences from West and Central Africa as well as reflected on the state of decentralisation in Zambia and Botswana. Participants adopted a step by step plan of action to engage the national governments and other key stakeholders for the establishment of (national) LED  programmes in Zambia and Botswana. See attached the full report of the workshop.
