Local Government Tax Enforcement in Tanzania

Taxation is increasingly seen as a key determinant and driver of public- private relations. This paper discusses tax collection in Tanzania and attempts to explain the widespread differences in revenue performance between local authorities. The links between development aid and taxation are also explored.
