3rd SACN Urban Conference: The State of South African Cities

The South African City Network Urban Conference is a unique gathering where all stakeholders and concerned participants review the state of South African cities. The purpose of this year Conference is to:

  • Further develop common understanding of the state of urban settlements in South Africa
  • Promote knowledge sharing on urban development and urban management strategies and practices between the SACN member cities
  • Raise awareness of urban development priorities.

The Conference will be held in Nelson Mandela Bay and will serve, among others, as a forum for discussion the preliminary findings of the 3rd edition of the State of Cities Report (SoCR3) due to be published in October 2010 and for the launching of the Township Renewal Sourcebook. Deadline for reservation is 11 November 2009.
