Use of Randomization in the Evaluation of Development Effectiveness

In this paper, Duflo and Kremer call for an expansion of the use of randomized evaluations to assess project impact. Randomization techniques can be used as a means of benchmarking project performance, which is a recommended supplement to simple before-and-after analyses.
