Masters Programmes in Local and Regional Economic Development

Sonja it is interesting you promoted this course in Canada- is it offering special support for African based students do you know? There are a growing number of these Masters programmes globally. As (I assume) you are based in South Africa, can you share any more details of Master's programmes on the African continent for our members?Gwen.Swinburn@gmail.com

Masters Programmes in Local and Regional Economic Development

Perhaps i could chip in....a good number of Universities (eg University of Kwazulu Natal -South Africa also offers some good courses with LED as an option [  http://sds.ukzn.ac.za/]  Others such as the University of Nairobi in Kenya offers Development studies and although LED has not been compacted as a discipline, the studies lean towards the practice of LED. These are other 'supplementaries' to the Waterloo option. Thanks Sonja for flagging this for us. Could anybody advise where there are good public policy Phd programmes with LED as a mainstream issue? I understand so many of them focus on generic policy tools...
